Spring is here, and the fish are biting!

In fact, it’s crazy good fishing right now. Shad are hot, bass are hot, Lake Oroville salmon are hot, and one of the best trout fishing rivers anywhere is sizzling hot!

How hot is that trout bite? Well, let’s put it this way…

When was the last time you caught 20, 30, or even 40 big rainbow trout in a single trip?

These trout are anywhere from 2 to 5 pounds each, and are beefy, strong, colorful wild river trout. They are about as far as you can get from flabby hatchery fish, and boy, can they fight!

Not only that, but this excellent fishing is right here in our own backyard, in Redding, CA.

The Sacramento River in Redding is cold, clean water that comes from the bottom of Shasta Dam. It flows through Redding, right alongside Interstate 5, and then continues down the valley to the ocean.

Flows are strong, water temperatures are nearly constant year-round, and the trout fishery is nothing short of fantastic.

Keep in mind this is a catch and release fishery only, which is one of the reasons it is so good. There’s a large resident population of big trout.

And every spring, when insects start hatching, the fishing just explodes. Fishing being fishing, daily results can be anywhere from quite good to phenomenal. Every day is different.

In fact, after years of fishing here, we’ve never been skunked on this trip. It’s that consistent.

The best part is… this fishing is available to everyone, regardless of experience!

Friendly instruction is provided for newer anglers, and more advanced anglers will benefit from Kevin’s professional guidance.

Fly fishing from boats is very popular here, and very productive. Spin fishing with light line is also very productive, and easier for newer fishermen. Both are a lot of fun.

This is one of my favorite fishing trips. It’s a beautiful scenic drift down the river, with lots of wildlife and bird life. Eagles, hawks, egrets, herons, and many other birds are often seen along the shore.

Keep in mind this Sacramento River wild trout trip is only available until approximately mid-June this year, until I move on to other fishing locations. If you’d like to go this year, I’d recommend giving me a call very soon.

So there we have it… it’s good Spring fishing everywhere!

No matter what kind of fishing you like to do… bass, Lake Oroville salmon, evening shad on the Sacramento River, or fantastic river trout fishing… it’s just a phone call away.
