As we move into fall, salmon fishing has been consistent and getting better by the day.

Last week we were landing 4-9 salmon per day, bright hard-fighting fish from 6 to 23 pounds.

But this week, the fishing has been red hot! We’ve had five days in a row of full limits for everyone, up to 28 pounds.

We’re fishing the Feather River right now, light line dragging with roe and flatfish. The lighter lines allow for a more natural presentation, and anglers are grinning ear to ear when they feel that tap-tap-tap turn into a solid hit then “fish on!”

Fishing with flatfish has been the best overall, but there have been some days where dragging roe has worked really well. Every day is different, so we adjust to the daily conditions to find out what is working best.

Water flows are supposed to stay high for the next 3 weeks, making for ideal fishing conditions. New fish are coming in every day. Personally, I think the season is just getting started and the best is yet to come.

The next 3 weeks look like they should be good to excellent, so it’s time to go fishing. Single anglers, couples, groups, and large parties are all welcome. All tackle is provided. All you need to do is bring your lunch, sunscreen, and catch some salmon!
